"National Security Minister Patricia Bullrich said Bahia Blanca was "destroyed." " From a storm which brought as much rain in a few hours on Friday as the town receives in a year.
Looking at Google Earth, the whole city is blocks after blocks after blocks of 2-storey buildings without any parks anywhere.
The last storm in December 2023 also left collapsed houses and roads in ruins.
Maybe, just maybe, rebuilding efforts everywhere should start to include #sustainability considerations: build 6-storey houses, with 35m2 of heated/cooled living space per person, plus 15m2 per additional person, and add parks.
What good is science if its results are ignored, eh? -
