When we #childfree hear about #anti-vax parents & crunchy parents feeding their kids #rawmilk, the whole bingo argument of "who will take care you when you're older" is laughable when our counter argument is "will your child live to adulthood" and if they do, "WILL they WANT to take care of you for putting their life at risk".

My son's lacrosse game is tonight. He needs to be there an hour before the game starts.
It doesn't feel right for a game of 11-12 yr olds but there's a part of me that's wouldn't mind tailgating during that hour.

Recently I had a bit of a revelation that explains why I feel such a disconnect from my parents.
When I was young, until the end of 8th grade, I had encopresis (look it up). As a result, most people avoided being around me and kids picked on me. I spent my youth trying to be invisible.
My parents never took me to a doctor or sought any kind of help for me except once in 7th grade when a teacher finally called home after a student picked on me in front of her.

CW: Bad parenting
People have the capacity to be kinda shite, but I always try to keep my positivity and focus on the good.
Tonight, however, was a test. A father left his 4yr old alone in the motel room whilst he went for a walk. Whilst alone the boy wailed and screamed for his father. A woman from another room had to come and comfort the boy and keep him occupied till his shitshow of a parent returned. With my autism, I don't understand people at the best of times, but treating a child badly - that's just beyond my comprehension.
So I just listen to "Nina" by Electric Fields and try to concentrate on deep breathing.

Gotta love when in a small #American semi-rural community on the outer fringe of a metro area - people feel the need to wear #SideArms into stores and restaurants (for “self defense”) but are comfortable leaving infants alone strapped in car seats inside running vehicles while they sip coffee in the bakery.
