  2. Harvest from our little cherry tree. We harvest them before they fully ripen because my wife is mildly allergic to cherries and can only eat them before skin of the fruit fully darkens.

  4. Plants have been a comfort amid chaos over the last year. From starting seeds under a grow bulb, to growing berries and vegetables in containers, to overwintering a few indoors... #patiogarden #gardenphotography #gardening #photography #urbangardening #photo #garden #growityourself #backyardharvest

  5. aw, jeez...in a moment of not paying attention, I planted more cucumber starters instead of spinach.

and of course they are all coming up really nice and strong so don't want to throw them out

  7. Benefits of work from home days, harvesting from my garden on lunch break 👩‍🌾🍈

    My first #galia #cantaloupe #harvest 🥰
It's super juicy, sweet & delicious!

Galia is a type of cantaloupe that's a cross between a cantaloupe & a honeydew. The fruit is light green on the inside, when ripened.

  9. #Cucamelons aka #MouseMelon aka #Pepquinos are easy to grow & do well in PNW areas. Fruits are size of large grapes & they taste like sour cucumbers. Good for pickling. You can eat them raw, like cucumbers. I like dipping them raw into sea salt with some chopped red chili peppers.

It's native range goes from Mexico to Venezuela. Many people grow it in different areas of the world as a food crop.

  11. First batch of hot sauce is done! I am working on a new recipe (my others have been strongly popular, judging by my site stats), and I made 4 litres of this today. It has #amaryllatomatillo and #sugarrushpeach #hotpeppers as a base, with peaches to make it taste like sweet and spicy pie.

I have a few tweaks for the next run, but am pretty satisfied with "entry level heat" sauce. I prefer mine spicier, but I think even my spouse can manage this one. 😂🤷‍♂️

2 lemons - juice and rind (finely chopped)
2 tablespoon finely chopped fresh ginger root

  18. Can’t put it off any longer. Time to make Plum jam from my home grown Santa Rosa plums from my 10 year old tree. Plums rescued before the birds and possums ate them all.

  20. July 4th #raspberry haul. My first stand of canes is petering out and the second just avalanched. To the freezer! #BackyardHarvest

  21. Thar they blow! All three #raspberry varietals are ripening. If I’m going to freeze fruit, now would be the time to clean the freezer and make room for a baking sheet to fit. #BackyardHarvest #SunDIY
