The Wonderful 101 (2013) - ★★★★½
didn't think i would play this version instead of waiting until i bought the remaster but i did anyway because:

1. i got impatient
2. it doesn't look like they did much accommodation for how the original involved the gamepad. so i figured i might as well do the original so that i can play on my wii u, which i haven't done in a while. that's the trouble with the wii u. there aren't that many unique, enhanced-with-the-gamepad games on there that can't be played anywhere else, but the ones that are there are some of the best experiences out there in gaming.

as for the actual game yeah it's great. the hype moments are hype.

Had to make a new account so that I could use the free trial since I got the game on a giveaway on my old one. Turned out I was almost near the end of ARR back then. Pretty good, even if I know the expansions are better.

it's what it says it sets out to do. it's a new zelda cd-i game! but freed from the limitations of having to run on a dvd player! so now it actually controls well! it's fun to explore the environments.
