Went to the grocery store. Managed to get most everything for under $200. Came home. Bent over to start putting everything away and my back was like noooooooooope. 🤕

Gingerly put everything away.
Now flat on couch.
No more yard work this weekend 😂

I wish ibuprofen worked on grocery bill inflation too.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but you know those comic panels where the artist conveys pain by drawing jagged lines and uses curved parallel dramatic lines and sometimes exclamation points and at the same time letters out “oof”, “duh?”, “OW!” And other expletives for pain? Well “they say” when you’re older you will make those noises out loud. Loud enough your family will hear it. So. I’m 74 and yes. I am now doing this. Back pain is a real “experience” omg omg omg

4 days post surgery and today I have bagged up rubbish to take to the bins, done a 10 min work out on the crosstrainer, pottered about doing some random light housework, done 3 hours of paid work (WFH), made lunch, and had a shower.

Previous to surgery I would have been able to do 1 or 2 of those things only before my back pain made it impossible to do anymore.

NOT EVEN A FUCKING TWINGE

I'm sorry to keep going on about it but I am beyond excited by this.

Lesson for others is please PLEASE insist on an abdominal scan if you have unexplained #LowerBackPain #backpain they keep dismissing. This was a melon sized #OvarianCyst lurking for atleast 5 years putting pressure on my lower spine.

The difference now it's been removed is life changing for me 😍

I'm getting hyped up to shovel rocks into our new garden cart tomorrow.

No really, i think it’ll be kinda therapeutic, even if it hurts a lot afterward. lol

It's been hard to even think about the #poolpond and the next steps for it, let alone do anything. So I really want to try to get some stuff done on Saturday.

I bought a really large (12 x 14”) ice pack that spans my whole lower back. I rigged some velcro straps to keep it in position in my executive desk chair. So far it’s been the most effective ice treatment I’ve ever had. Mostly pain free for 3-4 hours at a time over the last few days. Try it.

The steroid injection I got in my lower back Tuesday morning seems to be helping. I still have some soreness, but that might be due to the injection itself. It’s been nearly a year and half since I’ve been able to bend forward without pain after getting up in the morning.

Sciatica is freaking debilitating

I woke up from a knap.

I pushed my fist nearest to the edge of the bed into my mattress to push myself up and take all strain off my lower back.

Then for the first time I pushed both fists into my mattress either side of me to stand up and felt no back pain at all. :)

I suffered a compression fracture of my L1 vertebrae 20 years ago. Since yesterday, I've been walking bent over with pain in that general area. No idea if I did anything to aggravate it. But ...

I haven't exercised in 5 days. I HAVE to try. Maybe it will help.
