Attacks on the welfare state and the hard-won achievements of the working class are currently on the rise.
For us as communists, resisting this is a vital struggle.
In the wake of the wave of social protests, the following questions keep arising:
How do we organise this struggle to bring us closer to our goal, the socialist revolution? What is the relationship between the struggle for reforms and the revolutionary struggle? How do we formulate the right slogans and demands? What forms of action and organisation do we need?
We want to discuss these and other questions in our talk “Resistance to Social Cuts – How We Can Give the Struggle for Reforms a Revolutionary Character” and also engage in a discussion with you on this topic.
The talk will take place on 17 July at 6 pm at the Aenne Saefkow Social Centre.

Dabei stellt sich besonders im Zuge der Welle an Sozialprotesten immer wieder die Frage:
Wie organisieren wir diesen Kampf, um unserem Ziel, der sozialistischen Revolution, näher zu kommen? In welchem Verhältnis stehen der Kampf um Reformen zum revolutionären Kampf? Wie stellen wir richtige Losungen/Forderungen auf? Welche Aktions- und Organisationsformen benötigen wir?
Diese und weitere Fragen, wollen wir in unserem Vortrag "Widerstand gegen Sozialabbau – Wie wir den Kampf um Reformen revolutionär gestalten" besprechen und dazu auch mit euch in Diskussion kommen.
Der Vortrag findet am 17. Juli um 18 Uhr im Sozialen Zentrum Aenne Saefkow statt.

The Irish Bloc Céilí is back with a fourth rendition of our Soli-Céilí event.
Returning to @bum.berlin on Friday 17th of July.
๑ All funds raised from this event will be split across direct aid initiatives supporting Palestinians.
๑ A céilí is a traditional Irish community dance event. We will have dance instructors but it's mainly about having the craic and building community so no experience necessary.
๑ Children aged 10+ are invited to join us this time around, on the condition of adult accompaniment.
๑ The venue has an accessible entrance, exit, access to the terrace and bathroom. There will be a resting-zone and a quiet space.

Am Freitag, dem 17. Juli, kehren wir ins @bum.berlin zurück.
๑ Alle Einnahmen aus dieser Veranstaltung werden auf Initiativen zur direkten Hilfe für Palästinenser aufgeteilt.
๑ Ein Céilí ist ein traditionelles irisches Gemeinschaftstanzfest. Es werden Tanzlehrer vor Ort sein, aber es geht vor allem darum, Spaß zu haben und Gemeinschaft zu schaffen – Tanzerfahrung ist also nicht erforderlich.
๑ Kinder ab 10 Jahren sind dieses Mal herzlich eingeladen, sofern sie von einem Erwachsenen begleitet werden.
๑ Der Veranstaltungsort verfügt über einen barrierefreien Eingang, Ausgang, Zugang zur Terrasse und zu den Toiletten. Es wird einen Ruhebereich und einen Rückzugsraum geben.

From 20 July, AI surveillance is set to be introduced at Kotti as a so-called ‘KBO’ (crime-prone area).
It is intended to track our every move and analyse ‘suspicious behaviour’, ultimately finding reasons at every turn to harass and criminalise us.
This surveillance will spread to the rest of our neighbourhoods – naturally, to those places where racist checks and police violence are already part of everyday life.
In the ‘General Security and Public Order Act’ (ASOG), the Berlin Senate sets out a series of measures that promise us safety.
In reality, they are driving forward the criminalisation of migrants and people living in poverty, as well as total surveillance.

Ab dem 20.7. soll die KI-Überwachung am Kotti als einen sogenannten „KBO“ (Kriminalitätsbelasteter Ort) eingeführt werden.
Sie soll uns auf Schritt und Tritt verfolgen und „verdächtiges Verhalten“ analysieren, um letztendlich an allen Ecken und Enden Gründe zu finden, um uns zu schikanieren und zu kriminalisieren.
Diese Überwachung wird sich auf den Rest unserer Kieze ausbreiten, natürlich dort wo rassistische Kontrollen und Polizeigewalt sowieso schon Alltag sind.
Im „Allgemeinen Sicherheits- und Ordnungsgesetz“ (ASOG) sieht der Berliner Senat eine Reihe an Maßnahmen vor, die uns Sicherheit versprechen.
In Wirklichkeit treiben sie die Kriminalisierung von migrantischen und armutsbetroffenen Menschen und die totale Überwachung voran.

A student is due to appear in court this Friday, 17 July, for protesting against a fascist demonstration on 1 June.
Without reason or warning, the police began making arrests during a counter-protest.
After repeatedly striking the student and coming up with a different charge every few minutes, they have now brought charges of resisting arrest.
Anti-fascist resistance remains legitimate and must not be intimidated by arbitrary charges.
We call on everyone to show solidarity with our fellow student, because an attack on a student is an attack on the rights of us all.
So please come to the Magistrates’ Court on Friday at 9.15 am; the trial begins at 9.30 am in Courtroom B143.

Ein Student steht diesen Freitag, am 17.07., vor Gericht, weil er am 01.06. gegen eine faschistische Demonstration protestierte.
Grundlos und unangekündigt begann die Polizei bei einem Gegenprotest, Festnahmen zu machen.
Nachdem sie mehrfach auf den Studenten einschlugen und alle paar Minuten sich einen anderen Vorwurf auswählten, wurde nun Anklage wegen Widerstand erhoben.
Antifaschistischer Widerstand bleibt legitim und darf nicht durch willkürliche Anklagen eingeschüchtert werden.
Wir rufen alle dazu auf, Solidarität mit unserem Kommilitonen zu zeigen, denn ein Angriff auf eine Student:in, ist ein Angriff auf die Rechte von uns allen.
Darum kommt am Freitag um 9:15 Uhr zum Amtsgericht, der Prozess beginnt um 9:30 Uhr im Saal B143.

Colleges are going bankrupt, entire degree programmes are being lost. Buildings are falling apart, courses are being discontinued, lecturers' positions are being cut. The student union can afford less and less, and programmes that reduce inequalities are being abolished.
Access to higher education is becoming impossible for more and more people.
We will not accept the destruction of the social, cultural and scientific sectors.
We will not allow ourselves to be cut back!

Der Berliner Senat hat Geld für Olympia und andere Prestigeprojekte, aber Kultur und Bildung und damit Berliner Universitäten und Hochschulen werden #weggekürzt.
Hochschulen gehen insolvent, ganze Studiengänge verloren. Gebäude fallen auseinander, Lernangebote werden eingestellt, Dozierenden Stellen #weggekürzt. Das Studi*werk kann immer weniger leisten und Programme, die Ungleichheiten abbauen, werden abgeschafft.
Der Zugang zum Studium wird für immer mehr Menschen unmöglich.
Wir nehmen das Zerstören von den sozialen, kulturellen und wissenschaftlichen Sektoren nicht hin.
Wir lassen uns nicht Kürzen!

In cooperation with the Museum of Comfort Women, students are hosting an evening dedicated to feminist and decolonial resistance against gender-based violence in war and conflict – and the struggles around its remembrance in the face of nationalist narratives and its erasure.
🎬 We’ll start with a film screening, followed by a powerful panel discussion featuring a representative from the Museum of Comfort Women and an activist from United for Sudan.
Afterwards, you’re invited to stay for food, music, and conversations as we connect our collective fights for justice and remembrance.

Filmvorführung • Podiumsdiskussion • Get-Together mit Essen
In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Museum of Comfort Women veranstalten Studierende einen Abend, der dem feministischen und dekolonialen Widerstand gegen geschlechtsspezifische Gewalt in Krieg und Konflikt gewidmet ist – und den Kämpfen um deren Erinnerung angesichts nationalistischer Narrative und deren Auslöschung.
🎬 Wir beginnen mit einer Filmvorführung, gefolgt von einer spannenden Podiumsdiskussion mit einer Vertreterin des Museums der Trostfrauen, Aktivist*innen von United for Sudan sowie Gabriela Germany, einer Allianz antiimperialistischer philippinischer Frauen*.
Anschließend seid ihr herzlich eingeladen, bei Essen, Musik und Gesprächen zu bleiben, während wir unsere gemeinsamen Kämpfe für Gerechtigkeit und Erinnerung miteinander verbinden.

Food: 20:00On thursday the 17.07. at 6pm in Rigaerstraße 94, we want to come together to watch the documentary "To Kill a War Machine".
The movie follows the group " Palestine Action". On the 5th of July this year, the UK designated "Palestine Action" as "terrorist", following direct actions against weapon factories in the UK and the British Air Force.
After the screening of the movie we want to have a discussion.
Food and cold drinks for donation will be as always provided.
If the weather is allowing us, we will show the movie outside in the garden to have more space!
The movie will have German subtitles and we can provide if needed German whisper translation during the discussion!

Essen: 20:00 UhrAm Donnerstag, den 17.07. um 18 Uhr in der Rigaerstraße 94 wollen wir uns treffen, um den Dokumentarfilm „To Kill a War Machine“ anzuschauen.
Der Film begleitet die Gruppe „Palestine Action“. Am 5. Juli dieses Jahres hat Großbritannien „Palestine Action“ als „terroristisch“ eingestuft, nachdem die Gruppe direkte Aktionen gegen Waffenfabriken in Großbritannien und die britische Luftwaffe durchgeführt hatte.
Nach der Filmvorführung wollen wir eine Diskussion führen.
Essen und kalte Getränke werden wie immer gegen eine Spende angeboten.
Wenn das Wetter es zulässt, werden wir den Film draußen im Garten zeigen, um mehr Platz zu haben!
Der Film wird mit deutschen Untertiteln gezeigt, und bei Bedarf können wir während der Diskussion eine deutsche Flüsterübersetzung anbieten!

This Thursday, we at Potse are holding a rally in front of the BVV Lichtenberg!
We are fighting for the right to move into the empty Linse youth centre. To this end, we have prepared speeches with other people from Lichtenberg and will be handing out flyers to politicians (and everyone else) as they enter the building.
Later, at 6 p.m., one of us will ask a citizen's question in the BVV. Feel free to join us.
We will continue to put pressure on politicians both inside and outside. We must continue to fight for free spaces.
The first speech is at 4:30 p.m. Come along – without political pressure, there will be no youth centres!

Diesen Donnerstag machen wir als Potse eine Kundgebung vor der BVV Lichtenberg!
Wir kämpfen dafür, dass wir in das leere Jugendzentrum Linse einziehen können. Dafür haben wir mit anderen Leuten aus Lichtenberg Reden vorbereitet und verteilen Flyer an die Politiker*Innen (und alle anderen) wenn sie ins Gebäude gehen.
Später ab 18:00 stellt jemand von uns in der BVV eine Bürger*Innen Frage, kommt gerne noch dazu.
Drinnen und draußen werden wir weiter die Politik stressen. Freiräume müssen weiter und weiter erkämpft werden.
Die erste Rede ist um 16:30. Kommt vorbei, ohne politischen Druck keine Jugendzentren!
