and still ‘unbeatable’!In early summer 2015, the neighbourhood gathered for the first time in Wrangelkiez to protest against the closure of the vegetable shop ‘Bizim Bakkal’.
Weekly rallies turned into a movement for a city based on solidarity, which has achieved a lot.
Unfortunately, we are still a long way from our goal: the rent cap has been overturned, the right of first refusal has been practically abolished, evictions for personal use are omnipresent, rents continue to rise dramatically and more and more small businesses are threatened with displacement, while at the same time millions of square metres of office space in the city stand empty. Therefore:
Come together! We remain resistant.
Come together – for vibrant neighbourhoods and a city based on solidarity! 💛💚

10 Jahre Bizim Kiez
und noch immer „unverdränglich”!Im Frühsommer 2015 versammelte sich erstmals die Nachbarschaft im Wrangelkiez, um gegen die Kündi gung des Gemüseladens „Bizim Bakkal“ zu protestieren.
Aus wöchentlichen Kundgebungen wurde eine Bewe- gung für eine solidarische Stadt, die viel bewirkt hat.
Leider sind wir längst nicht am Ziel: Der Mietendeckel wurde gekippt, das Vorkaufsrecht praktisch abge schafft, Eigenbedarfskündigungen sind allgegenwärtig, die Mieten steigen weiter drastisch und immer mehr Kleingewerbe ist von Verdrängung bedroht, während gleichzeitig Millionen Quadratmeter Büro flächen in der Stadt leer stehen. Daher:
Kommt zusammen! Wir bleiben widerständig.
Kommt zusammen – für lebendige Nachbarschaften und eine solidarische Stadt! 💛💚

Wir gehen wir in die nächste Runde und freuen uns euch am 16.07 zu einen weiteren Spieleabend einzuladen. Alle die es verschlafen haben zu den letzten zu kommen, können das jetzt nachholen (:

Wir wollen den Frauencharakter dieser Revolution hervorheben und darüber sprechen warum Frauen sich der Revolution angeschlossen haben.
Frauen wie Ivana Hoffmann oder die Gefallenen des Suruç Massakers die nach der Befreiung Kobanês dorthin wollten um die Revolution zu Verteidigen und Kobanê wiederaufzubauen.

In the media and by politicians, these protests are defamed as anti-Semitic and there is strong repression against Palestine solidarity.
Unconditional support for Israel is the raison d'être of the German state. Human rights violations and breaches of international law play no role in German policy.
Moshe Zuckermann will discuss how and why criticism of the Israeli government is taboo in Germany and what effects this has on the German left.
Elbit Systems is an Israeli drone manufacturer that also has sites in Germany. Elbit is the world's 24th largest defence manufacturer and military service provider in 2022. Protests against the war profiteer have been taking place for years, particularly in the UK. As part of the Shut Elbit Down campaign, protests have now also been organised in Germany and there have been actions at Elbit's production site in Ulm. An activist from the campaign will talk about her activities and the role of the German and Israeli arms industry.
As Rheinmetall Disarm, we have consistently opposed armament, militarisation and all German arms exports and blocked arms companies even before the announcement of the turnaround.

While a few years ago the German government claimed that no arms exports to war and crisis zones outside the EU and NATO would be authorised, this no longer has any meaning in times of war in Ukraine and Gaza.
Since 2022, Germany has provided 28 billion euros worth of military equipment for Ukraine, while arms exports to Israel have increased tenfold since 7 October. The German defence industry is expanding, Rheinmetall AG's share price is constantly reaching new highs and the left-liberal press is discovering its fascination with war equipment. Military escalation is the means of choice in defence of so-called Western values.
The deaths of thousands of people are trivialised as inevitable collateral damage and imperialist interests are completely ignored.
After resistance to the "turning point" announced by Chancellor Scholz remained low, thousands of people now regularly take to the streets to protest against the military escalation in the Middle East.

Eine Aktivistin der Kampagne wird über ihre Aktivitäten und die Rolle der deutschen und israelischen Rüstungsindustrie sprechen.
Als Rheinmetall Entwaffnen haben wir uns schon vor der Verkündung der Zeitenwende konsequent gegen Aufrüstung, Militarisierung und jegliche deutsche Rüstungsexporte gestellt und Rüstungskonzerne blockiert. Nachdem der Widerstand gegen die von Kanzler Scholz verkündete „Zeitenwende“ gering blieb, sind inzwischen regelmäßig Tausende Menschen auf den Straßen, um gegen die militärische Eskalation in Nahost zu protestieren.
In den Medien und von Politiker*innen werden diese Proteste als antisemitisch diffamiert und es findet eine starke Repression gegen die Palästina-Solidarität statt.
Die bedingungslose Unterstützung Israels ist deutsche Staatsräson. Menschenrechtsverletzungen und der Bruch des Völkerrechts spielen für die deutsche Politik keine Rolle.
Moshe Zuckermann wird darauf eingehen, wie und warum die Kritik an der israelischen Regierung in Deutschland tabuisiert wird und welche Auswirkungen dies bis hinein in die deutsche Linke hat.
Elbit Systems ist ein israelischer Drohnenproduzent, der auch in Deutschland Standorte hat. Elbit ist auf Platz 24 der weltweit größten Rüstungshersteller und militärischen Dienstleistungsanbietern im Jahr 2022. Vor allem in Großbritannien finden seit Jahren Proteste gegen den Kriegsprofiteur statt. Im Rahmen der Kampagne Shut Elbit Down haben sich mittlerweile auch in Deutschland Proteste formiert und es gab Aktionen am Produktionsstandort von Elbit in Ulm.

Während die Bundesregierung vor wenigen Jahren noch behauptete, dass keine Waffenexporte in Kriegs- und Krisengebiete außerhalb von EU und NATO genehmigt würden, hat dies zu Zeiten des Kriegs in Ukraine und Gaza keinerlei Bedeutung mehr.
Seit 2022 hat Deutschland Kriegsgerät im Umfang von 28 Milliarden für die Ukraine bereitgestellt, die Rüstungsexporte nach Israel haben sich seit dem 7. Oktober verzehnfacht. Die deutsche Rüstungsindustrie expandiert, der Aktienkurs der Rheinmetall AG erreicht ständig neue Höchstwerte und die linksliberale Presse entdeckt ihre Faszination fürs Kriegsgerät. Die militärische Eskalation ist das Mittel der Wahl zur Verteidigung sogenannter westlicher Werte.
Der Tod tausender Menschen wird dabei zum unausweichlichen Kollateralschaden verharmlost und imperialistische Interessen völlig ausgeblendet.

2️⃣ How can we mobilise and organise better? What is needed for continuous alliance and networking work?
3️⃣ Beyond police and penalties. What makes us safe?
4️⃣ How can the campaign be continued if necessary?From 20:45 there will be a poetry slam by Ann from International Women* Space (@iwspace.de ) and Deniz Torlak (@denizstressiz) as well as music and food.
The venue is barrier-free and the event is free of charge. It will be held in German, but we will provide a translation if needed. Afterwards you will have the opportunity to talk to the alliance.

On the International Day Against Police Violence, 15 March 2024, we wanted to talk to you about how we can continue to organise against police brutality. 🔥🚔🔥
But the day before, our beloved friend, brother and colleague, Biplab Basu, passed away, so we cancelled the event.
We needed some time to gather ourselves and get organised again.
But now we have decided to organise our event in July. For several years now, we have been fighting with our "GoFilmThePolice" campaign to make racist police violence visible in its brutality and as organised violence, and we are campaigning for the decriminalisation of filming.
This year we would like to end the campaign and therefore invite you to the neighbourhood house for exchange, reflection and networking.

✨Abschlussveranstaltung Go Film The Police✨
Am internationalen Tag gegen Polizeigewalt, 15.März.2024, wollten wir eigentlich mit Euch darüber sprechen, wie wir uns auch weiterhin gegen die Brutalität der Polizei organisieren können. 🔥🚔🔥
Doch einen Tag zuvor ist unser geliebter Freund, Bruder und Kollege, Biplab Basu, von uns gegangen ist, weshalb wir die Veranstaltung abgesagt haben.
Wir haben nun etwas Zeit gebraucht, um uns zu sammeln und wieder zu organisieren.
Doch jetzt haben wir beschlossen, unsere Veranstaltung im Juli nachzuholen. Denn seit einigen Jahren kämpfen wir mit unserer Kampagne „GoFilmThePolice“ dafür, rassistische Polizeigewalt in ihrer Brutalität und als organisierte Gewalt sichtbar zu machen und setzen uns für eine Entkriminalisierung des Filmens ein.
