On 28 February 2026, the US and Israel launched a massive attack on Iran. Thousands of civilians have already been killed and injured.
Right at the start of the war, the US bombed a primary school for girls in Minab, killing at least 168 people, including over 100 children.
Since late 2025, there had been increasing protests and strikes in Iran against the worsening economic and social crisis.
People took to the streets for freedom and bread. Trade unions and social movements are brutally suppressed and persecuted in Iran.
Thousands of demonstrators were killed by the Iranian security forces; there were mass arrests and the internet was repeatedly shut down.

Am 28. Februar 2026 haben die USA und Israel damit begonnen den Iran massiv anzugreifen. Tausende Zivilist*innen wurden bereits getötet und verletzt.
Gleich zu Beginn des Krieges wurde von den USA eine Grundschule für Mädchen in Minab bombardiert, dabei wurden mindestens 168 Menschen getötet, darunter über 100 Kinder.
Seit Ende 2025 hatte es im Iran vermehrte Proteste und Streiks gegen die sich verschärfende wirtschaftliche und soziale Krise gegeben.
Die Menschen sind für Freiheit und Brot auf die Straße gegangen. Gewerkschaften und soziale Bewegungen werden im Iran brutal unterdrückt und verfolgt.
Tausende demonstrierende Menschen wurden durch die iranischen Sicherheitskräfte getötet, es gab Massenverhaftungen und immer wieder wurde das Internet abgeschaltet.

Where is the women’s centre for Lichtenberg?
In March 2025, the Lichtenberg District Assembly approved the establishment of a women’s centre as a new point of contact for violence prevention and counselling.
This decision was justified, among other things, by the numerous femicides in Lichtenberg and the lack of support services for women.
Over a year has passed since then, and there has not been a single public statement as to whether work on setting up the women’s centre has begun. A query we submitted has gone unanswered.
But we do not have time to wait for a slow bureaucratic process to run its course and for it to take years before we
get our women’s centre.This delay is costing women their lives!
Since the decision in March 2025, we have recorded a further femicide and an attempted femicide in Lichtenberg.
We demand transparency regarding the process and swift implementation of the women’s centre’s construction!

Wo bleibt das Frauenzentrum für Lichtenberg?
Im März 2025 wurde in der Bezirksversammlung Lichtenberg ein Frauenzentrum als neue Anlaufstelle für Gewaltprävention und Beratung beschlossen.
Dieser Beschluss wurde unter anderem mit den zahlreichen Femiziden in Lichtenberg und der Unterversorgung an Frauenhilfsangeboten begründet.
Seitdem ist über ein Jahr vergangen und es gab keine einzige öffentliche Stellungnahme dazu, ob die Errichtung des Frauenzentrums gestartet wurde. Eine Anfrage von uns blieb unbeantwortet.

Nazis are marching. The AFD is on the rampage with its democratically elected members of parliament and wants to abolish democracy.
Every day, racism and anti-Semitism jeopardise human lives. And unfortunately, the words of our late honorary chairwoman Ester Bejarano are still relevant:
‘Those who fight Nazis cannot rely on the state.’
