The Senators and Congressmen will not stand up for what's is in the best interest of Americans. They have abdicated their responsibility to the failed real estate tycoon of New York.Yes the there are chants in #Iran for death to America. Yes the #Ayatollahs and #IRGC have blood on their hands. Not only Iranian blood but also American and non-American, non-Iranian blood.
But this, #EpicFury, is madness meant to satiate the ego of one crass, callous and corrupt person.

#IRGC and the #Ayatollahs do not care how many Iranians get killed or go hungry. Nor how badly their economy goes under. #DJT only has 2.5 years left, they have more. They wont give up. They can only be removed from power by a ground invasion.

#Iran's economy is battered. It will need north of 300 billion to get back in shape. #Iran will need to sell 80 billion worth of produce per year for a decade just to build it back. That is provided no money is sent to #Hezbollah, #Hamas, etc. There are indications that Iran has been prioritizing sending money to #Hezbollah and possibly #Houthis even over #IRGC units.
#Ayatollahs have a choice to make.

Precisely. That is why this has to be broken. The world energy cannot be held hostage to a bunch of deranged #Ayatollahs whose past time is killing thousands of unarmed protesters.If #Egypt gets its act together and cleanses the #Sinai peninsula then a Saudi-Alexandria oil and gas pipeline will guarantee Saudi and possibly Kuwait and Qatar exports, to Europe and beyond.
#Strait of #Hormuz can be bypassed. #Iran's stranglehold can be degraded.

Both #Saudi and #Qatar have an interest to find and fund a #Hormuz bypass. The alternative is tens of billions or even hundreds of billions of dollars being paid to #IRGC. Annually. They may refuse to work together in which case both of them loose. #Qatar will be at the mercy of #Ayatollahs. #Saudi which will have to fund the enhanced #EastWest pipeline on its own.#Houthis don't have a say in this.
#US cant clean this up. It lacks the capacity.

The #nuclear question is unresolved. #Iran still retains the tech and manpower to refine Uranium.
The #Ayatollahs are still in power in Tehran.
The Strait of #Hormuz is still closed. Bab-el-Mandeb is likely to close soon. #Iran and #Houthis are extracting tolls from international shipping lanes. The ability of #USN and #USMC to keep sea lanes open is in doubt.

#DJT holds all the cards and still the strait of #Hormuz still closed. Does #Trump actually hold any cards or has he played all of his cards without getting any thing in return.
After more than 50 days of bombing, the #Islamic regime of #Ayatollahs is still in power. There has not been any regime change.
With #Iran reverting back to the position of no direct talks with #US, the hardliners have the upper hand in #Tehran.

If #Iran gets away with implementing the #Ayatollahs toll booth in strait of #Hormuz then the estimated value of cargo transiting the #SouthChinaSea is about 5 trillion. Expect #China to put a toll booth for all shipping going east of #Mallaca strait.

On an average more than 100 ships transit Strait of #Hormuz. If #Iran is able to extract 2 million from 100 ships daily, via the #Ayatollah toll booth, that means 200 million a day. In year of 365 days, that is 73 billion. Over a decade it is 730 billion.
Houthis will do the same for #Bab-el-Mandeb.#Ayatollahs are grateful to a failed nincompoop from NY. #Trump just gave them a new non-oil revenue stream. Will they say thank you?

For #Trump, #Iran has to be seen to be submitting to his will and concede defeat. For #Iran it has to outlast #DJT for another 4-6 weeks. #Iran need not win any battle against #US just like #Vietcong and #Taliban. Post the 4-6 weeks damage to the world economy and petrodollar would be severe.
Worse if #US walks away declaring victory while Iran is still run by #Ayatollahs the blowback on #GCC countries and #Israel would be #tremendous.

@ScottLucas #iran is more interested in policing the clothes of Iranian women then protecting itself against foreign aggression. It is more important for #Tehran to see how much hair is showing or not showing under a head scarves of women than the smugglers who help bring in contraband. Money was wasted in Iran on Gasht-e Ershad and #Basij, that could have been put to better use.
This is an empty gesture. The #ayatollahs will hang people by dozens using cranes. It wont fix what is required.
