El Frente de defensa y desarrollo de la provincia de Huanta, en la región Ayacucho, convocó un paro provincial que duró varios días. Las organizaciones sociales de esta provincia vienen organizando protestas contra las actividades mineras de parte de las empresas Newmont Peru S.R.L y Puma Ñahui Exploraciones Per S.A.C., exigiendo la protección de esta área y la nulidad de las concesiones mineras.

Long after the incidents of rape against women and adolescent girls were committed, soldiers have finally been convicted and sentenced for what have been termed crimes against humanity. Ten former army personnel have been given sentences of between six and twelve years for crimes committed at the communities of Manta and Vilca in #Ayacucho region.
