I pushed some improvements to orx-axidraw, the extension I wrote to plot directly from OPENRNDR programs. Now pausing and resuming works well, I can specify any paper size (not just presets), I can do multi-color plots and it groups by color and waits for pen changes, set heights and speeds per layer, and I had it send me "done" notifications to my phone.

The next feature I have in mind is going to be less easy 🙂

63 Broken Ladders

I mailed my postcards for this year's plotter postcard exchange. The design this year is "63 of 255 possible broken 8 rung ladders (in order) + 1 complete 8 rung ladder." I plotted the cards using an Axidraw SE/A3 with a Staedtler pigment liner for the black lines and a Sakura Pigma PN for the red.

@tca 3D-printed adapters for plotters are an important achievement. I've designed adapters for current Axidraws and historic Mutoh scribers for Muji pens and fat Eddings and plotted with them within an hour.

Pilot G2 gel pens often give me these little 'fireflies' when they get towards the end of their ink. They can be minimized by putting extra paper underneath but I don't mind them.
