Do we need to mention that Coocook.org was NOT affected by the #AWSdown #USEast1 disaster? 😜
Instead, to be honest, it’s running on a 10+ year old 1U server at a community-organized ISP in my hometown #Leipzig without any complex #HighAvailability setup. The machine has been running like this surprisingly steady all those years 🙈

On Amazon's recent AWS outage, but applies to many software companies.

Today's #awsdown is just a taste of what is doomed to happen.
I have bought a massive stock of pop-corns to cook, to sit down and watch the town burning.
That's going to be AWS, CloudFlare on just one of the various SPOF that we have been creating over the last few year. -
When I went to bed around 3 am it seemed like AWS was recovering. I didn't expect to wake up to continuing problems.
No impact on me, as far as I can tell. 🤞 I'm just following along as the saga unfolds.

I didn't even noticed the #awsoutage until everyone freaked out about it. Thankfully it seems I've been doing a good job of de-centralizing stuff. But I do feel for everyone affected specially small businesses that were victims of predatory apps reliant on cloud infrastructure to operate. #aws #awsdown

It never got passed those 2 things. Went on working and doing stuff like usual, as if nothing happens. Well, outside of seeing a joyful influx in AWS and DNS related memes.
I guess that means I got my stuff quite well in order 🤓 :awesome: !
