@spacerog that’s such a bullshit & people-hostile policy 😠😡🤬 I’d say I expect people running a ̶s̶e̶c̶u̶r̶i̶t̶y̶ ̶ vendor conference to do better but, well, 😩

and as well as being actively hostile to trans, nonbinary, & gender-nonconforming folks, it will almost certainly break their own registration system if pursued with purity^ (patio11 has entered the chat, etc.)

maybe i should make my own #awesomelist called #vegan cooking instead? that might make more sense actually

- common substitutes for non #vegan ingredients, e.g. flax egg, TVP / seitan / tofu
- comparison of plant milks and applications
- soy free options for those with allergies
- beginner friendly basic vegan recipes every vegan should know, e.g. TOFU SCRAMBLE!

there should be so much more!! when i first became #vegan it took me a while to find these resources and the #awesomelist should be the perfect starting point but it's currently very lacking.

would love to overhaul the #awesomelist for #veganism. right now i just don't think it has the #vegan resources it should. here's what i think it should have:

- what veganism actually is (NOT just a diet!!)
- table/list of ingredients that vegans must avoid, esp less well known ones like carmine, shellac, casein, etc
- table/list of ingredients that ARE vegan despite not sounding like they are, e.g. lactic acid, locust bean gum
