TFW the proposed videotape digitization project is 2X what you were initially told. This is a good example of why finding aids completed by “student archivists” should be double-checked by someone.

I wish all of my av digitization requests were recordings of people dancing. #avpreservation

As a former av archivist, I’m happy to say that my dept (archives and special collections) has finally agreed to stop letting patrons play original archival audiotape and videotape in the reading room.

Although late in coming, it is a win for #avpreservation. 📼🎉

My uni thinks #digitalpreservation is a hoax, the NDSA’s Levels of Preservation is fake news, and Trevor Owens is just an imaginary friend (that everyone seems to have🤔).

Are there others who do #digipres, #avpreservation, & #digitization work at orgs that categorize that type of work as low-tech general office work? If so, WTF , & I am sorry.
