It was released as the #leadSingle from his debut album #True on 17 June 2013, by #PRMDMusic and #IslandRecords. It was written by Avicii, #MikeEinziger of #Incubus, and American #soul singer #AloeBlacc, who provides vocals for the track. Mike Einziger provides acoustic #guitar, while Peter Dyer provides keyboard on the song.

Aviciis "Hey Brother" er sunget af Dan Tyminski, som også er stemmen bag George Clooney, når han "synger" "Man of Constant Sorrow" i filmen "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"

Der er noget tilfredsstillende for en genrespecialist i denne uptake-kæde. Uptakes have long memories, og det her er at blive gammel på den gode måde.

Huomasin, että #YleArenan illa on #SverigesRadio n #P3:n kaksiosainen dokkari #Avicii sta. Alankin kuunnella. Se filmimuotoinen #dokumentti oli hurja ja toi hyvin esiin, miksi on tärkeää, että #artisti n kuin artistin lähellä työnsä puolesta olevat ihmiset olisivat nim. om. ihmisiä. Ihmisiä ihmiselle. Ihmisiä isolla iillä. Sellaista #TimBergling olisi tarvinnut. Ei sellaisia, mitä dokkari toi esiin.
