I rewatched Avatar a couple of days ago as I wanted to see the second movie released a few years back. Holy shit the CGI had an upgrade! I mean that was going to be obvious, but by watching one after the other it’s extremely noticeable.

I am soooo glad I waited for streaming to watch 3-hour, 16 minute #AvatarTheWayOfTheWater. It wasn't even close to as good as the first, being 100% about the spectacle and nothing about an original story. I called the first #Avatar "Dances with Avatars," so it also wasn't original, but it was *better*. Being able to watch it at 1.25x speed while able to work on other things made it far more bearable. I would have been miserable in the theater.

Gerade #AvatarTheWayOfTheWater geschaut. Die Animationen sind, wie erwartet, spitze. Die Haut sieht so natürlich aus. Die Kinder fand ich besser als erwartet, jedoch hat der Film auch seine Längen.
Ich hoffe, dass die Geschichte noch gesteigert wird mit den weiteren Fortsetzungen. Und habe da schon einen Verdacht, wie es weitergehen könnte.
Geht ins Kino, damit die weiteren Teile realisiert werden. Ich will mehr Pandora

My take on #Avatar2: this is 3 different movies, one after the other. The first part is a shoot 'em up military SF movie. That's followed by a joyful art film about the ocean, & then it turns into a disaster movie, basically "The Poseidon Adventure." I liked the middle part best because it's gorgeous. But the end was fun too (I really like the Poseidon Adventure.) First ~1 hr could be cut entirely. Long boring battle scene with no real stakes. #avatarwayofthewater #avatarthewayofthewater #avatar

Went to watch #Avatar: The Way of the Water and have to agree that it seems to be better with fans than critics, who have widely panned it.
For one, director James Cameron is clearly creating a beautiful universe, and you feel invested in the characters and their environment. And it builds upon the magic of the first film. Whilst the general good vs evil is wearing thin, it's still spectacular to watch.

Well colour me interested! I think I've just gone from "meh" to "OMG OMG OMG!!!!". 😂
I loved the original Avatar, and was looking forward to the sequels, but none of the trailers really "grabbed" me, so I wasn't convinced that James Cameron could pull it off again. However, reading this has suddenly given me a rush of hope (hype?), and I am now REALLY excited to see the movie!
