The current #hydrogen Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) #prototype will not be the #final #version to be used for the #Kuching Urban Transportation System (#KUTS).
Work to come up with #finalversion of the ART vehicle will be made next year, after the #Sarawak government presents #data from the ongoing #testing exercise to the manufacturer in China on #improvement that need to be made on the 38 units ordered by the state.

An enquiry was submitted on the estimated capital investment in the Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) project for the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Sitting which starts on 20 Nov until 29 Nov.
The written reply for the question should also include the land acquisition costs and the expected return on investment and the ridership for the next 10 years.

Sarawak Metro informed that Stage 2 of the Prototype Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) #Hydrogen Vehicle Proof-of-Concept (#POC) Exercise at Kuching-Samarahan Expressway is officially underway.
A notice was also attached for people to refer to for the traffic flow and flagmen locations throughout the POC period.
The ART will run from 20 November to 15 December, 5am to 8pm.

On 16 November, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas activated the remaining smart traffic light intersections along the Kuching-Samarahan Expressway.
He also inspected the dedicated lane for the Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART), proving ground for the ART throughout the POC exercise scheduled to start next week.
The smart traffic light will ensure transit priority be given to ART at intersections.

Transit Signal Priority (#TSP) system is now in operation along the #Kuching - #Samarahan Expressway at the ILP and Sarawak Heart Centre roundabouts.
The system, developed by a Sarawakian company, is meant to regulate #traffic along the expressway which will soon have an #AutonomousRapidTransit (ART) system plying it.
With TSP, it enables traffic lights to go green for the ART whenever the ART passes any intersection.

Ibraco Berhad and China Railway Group Limited have secured a construction project valued at RM568.61 million for infrastructure works along the Blue Line-Package 1 Rembus to Stutong.
This is part of the Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) network project under the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS).
The Letter of Acceptance was officially accepted on Nov 10.

The next stage of proof-of-concept (#POC) exercise for the #AutonomousRapidTransit (ART) will begin sometime this month on the Kuching-Samarahan Expressway.
The POC exercise will be conducted on a 3-kilometre stretch of the dedicated lane built between two roundabout along the expressway.
This stretch will form a section of what will become the permanent ART dedicated double lane built for the #Kuching Urban Transportation System (#KUTS) project’s #BlueLine.

Sarawak Metro's Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) vehicles will be operated on dedicated lanes and will not share the road with other road users.
The lanes will either be at-grade (road level) or elevated, and the ART vehicles run on rubber tyres and hence the dedicated lanes will be trackless.
The ART operation will be supported by a feeder bus network to offer the first mile and last mile connectivity for commuters.

The Sarawak government will order 38 more units of the hydrogen-powered autonomous rapid transit (ART) coaches once the test runs of the prototype vehicle is completed.
The coaches would serve the three lines of phase one of the Kuching Urban Transport System (#KUTS), scheduled to start operations in stages at the end of 2025.
