zum Geleite - an die Leserschaft
This is the start of a project. I will post scenes regular - translated into English, compressed, serial. Why? Because I need reaction. Because writing in the little chamber alone does not work. Because I want to know if what drives me also reaches others.
It is autofiction. It is Dark Noir.
A man in Africa. Foreign. A woman - drug dependent. A son - seven years old. The man does not stay for her. He stays for the boy. But the boy is the reason he would have to go - and the only reason he does not.
Alcohol. Cocaine. Dealers at the door. Gaslighting. A visa shark with his passport. No lawyer helps. No escape possible.
The man hides at the woman's place to not get deported. He cannot leave her - and cannot take the boy with him.
He is the radio operator of the Titanic, still sending Morse signals while the water already stands in the cabin.
The boy is seven. He is the reason the protagonist endures. Does not break.
But will the boy survive?
And how?
