I posted this before, but it is worth it just for the beautiful photo.

This picture feels like it was taken yesterday… but it was taken in a Paris public garden nearly a hundred years ago. Everything feels modern: the composition, the casualness, the daring clothes, haircuts, and accessories.
The colors are original: this is an #autochrome, using the first process for colour photography invented by the Lumière brothers in 1903.
The women are unknown, but I can't help wondering how they fared a few years later in nazi-occupied Paris.

Jeden Monat einen Bildband kaufen, mein erfolgreichster Neujahrsvorsatz, schon seit 2023. Im Juli gab es das frisch erschienene Buch „Colour Mania“ von Catlin Langford, darin Autochromes verschiedener Fotografen.

Autochrome ist ein frühes Verfahren, um farbige Diapositive herzustellen. Die Farbaufnahmen in dem Buch sind allesamt aus der Zeit 1907-1934. #fotografie #autochrome

Didn't know about Lomochrome Purple. It has the subtle pastel tones of the old autochrome process, though the manufacturer does not seem to market it as such. Or is the secret in your processing? Either way, your Surf School photograph and its colours are an autochromistic masterpiece!
