@hosford42 If it was in any way true that the “feedback” was transformative, it wouldn’t have taken them this many years to do something about it. They’ve continued to operate as a hate group for all this time. The criticism has remained the same because their hateful actions have stayed consistent over time.
The only thing they can do to redeem themselves is to spend every last dime they have correcting every hateful thing they did until they are out of money and then shut their organization down permanently.
The question I have is what motivation #Forbes has for laundering their reputation.

Simon Baron-Cohen is an acknowledged "world" expert on #autism. And, as we all know, lacking autists on his team, he gets it right about 50% of the time.
"World expert", hah! 😐
And as for #AutismSpeaks... There are no words. Violent coercion (ABA) is their thing, and it is despicable.
ABA was invented by Lovaas' team, a companion to their other invention: gay conversion! They all are Aversion Therapy, renamed and rebranded. Coercive & violent punishment for deviation.

Since April is #AutismAwarenessMonth, I felt like I should amplify the fact that people with #Autism and #Autistic spectrum disorders almost unanimously feel that #AutismSpeaks is counterproductive in that it actively avoids allowing autistic representation, and focuses on suppressing autistic traits in general rather than trying to bolster coping skills and give autistic people wider acceptance in society.
It's the equivalent of an organization about people in wheelchairs, run entirely by people who are inconvenienced by them, pulling attention away from advocacy for ramps in order to find ways to make the wheelchairs less obtrusive, at the expense of the people in wheelchairs.
They are #neurotypical people, shouting over #disabled people.
(Also, this article has some information on #ABA that raises some questions for me, as someone with #PTSD and a #psychology background)

This April, I'm lighting it up #RedInstead to counter #AutismSpeaks' "Light it up Blue" campaign. Autism Speaks has a horrible history of:
• Supporting Applied Behavioural Analysis (abuses #Autistic children to make them "normal");
• Endorsed the Judge Rotenburg Center which the UN condemned for torture;
• Use most of their budget for lobbying and researching ways to "cure" autism;
• Have ad campaigns calling #Autism a "burden" and a "disease". -
I don't like when organizations have names that seem like a good thing but have a bad reason to be named that so then if people say they're bad, the organization and those that don't know any better can claim that anyone that doesn't support them is horrible. #AutismSpeaks and #PETA are two good examples, where AS wants to "cure" (eradicate like a disease) #autism, and PETA is, well, PETA (you probably know why they're bad and they even did an ad once claiming cow's milk causes autism).

Am I the only person to notice that CBS News showed an advertisement for Autism Speaks today, during national news at 4PM PT? I live in SF Bay Area, and I’m not sure if this was just from local KPIX. I do certainly plan to reach out and raise their attention to the harm this group causes.
