I wonder if there was an explosion at the Jimmy Dean link pork sausage plant, because #HEB has been out of it for the past 2 weeks. Not even an empty spot in the display case where it would've been (otherwise that'd indicate online orders buy it all up before I get there). But then again HEB does that when they can't order products to carry at the price they want. This is the future, and the future is now, I guess.

Emperor Norton’s Stationary Marching Band, playing at Honk TX yesterday. They were the most musically interesting act we saw, and despite their name, probably the most dynamic. Honk’s still happening today at Pan Am Park.

Sir Douglas Quintet, Live From Austin TX, 2006 on New West

Doug Sahm’s Sir Douglas Quintet recorded in 1981 but released in 2006 (on CD/DVD) / 2018 (vinyl) – live on Austin City Limits. (In 1981 that means the old Studio 6A at UT Austin, not the new Moody Theater).

This was part of a reunion tour after the quintet split up in the early 70s when Sahm put out his solo album.

My copy via a private sale is the 2018 three-sided LP version with one side etched, pressed by MPO.

The City of Austin recently installed these car ticklers in the middle of the bike lane. Stellar work, guys.
