LRG's UI

Going by memory here, but attempting to use the #LRG site again as a customer after two years, its #UI is much better now. Not as good as the functional jank of 2018, but miles better than the bloated, redundant ad-ridden UI from 2021.

Boy, is Twitter's site heavy

Recently the instance I'd been using was mostly unreachable, but redirect scripts still worked. Being mainly on phone though and wanting to keep going through my backlog, I didn't feel like testing for functional instances so I just set the script to x.com.

The instance came back online ~2 days later but for the day I still forgot to disable the script.

And as I open posts faster than I can read them, but still under most sites' time-out thresholds, I can easily open ~250 miscellaneous tabs, but at ~300 the PC chugs and rarely I get to 350 tabs before the whole OS freezes.

Today at ~70, it was lagging like I was past 300 tabs. Twitter's app-fied site being the one more consistently crashing seemed suspicious, and upon closing its tabs, I could feel the framerate getting better as I closed the tabs.

Respecting the Nitter project even more now.
