Made a thing. When Core Audio wedges on a Mac, the fix is one command — but finding the note, copying it, opening Terminal, and typing a password into a prompt VoiceOver tells you nothing about is five steps too many.

Reset Audio does it in one keystroke. Native auth dialog, never a terminal prompt. It confirms Core Audio actually came back rather than assuming, then says so out loud.

First app I've built with Claude, so I'm a little nervous. Try it, break it, tell me what's wrong.

Anyone using Kontakt 8 on a Mac with VoiceOver?
I'm trying to use VOCR to access the File menu so I can run Batch Re-save on my libraries, but I'm stuck. Nothing happens when I activate the File menu button. VOCR never sees the drop-down menu—it only detects my libraries and presets.
Has anyone figured out a way to access the File menu with VoiceOver, or found another accessible method for running Batch Re-save? I'm running Kontakt in standalone.

If you're a #musician, #audioEngineer, do #musicProduction, and you use #GNUlinux then #IEEE1394 #FireWire is as good as ever.

I've got an old laptop with a mini 1394 port and an #Alexis Multimix (12?) mixing board. It works fine and I don't really need more right now. Might get a PCI-E to FireWire adaptor card for my old desktop partially just because. There is a small advantage to it over USB.

idk how much more I'll obtain. It's cheap. lol

What's better is #MADI, #DANTE, #ADAT direct to PCI-E. Use Cat6+ if you've really got that many channels.

Had a nice recording session last week for a new Slam Metal band. Entire production on #bitwig using #Linux. Worked perfectly with their #RME Digiface USB without any driver install needed. Even less work than on macOS where the driver install is a multi part process. Love the #Kali LP-UNF's as my traveling setup for an extra pair of 'known' ears to A/B between! #audioproduction

in more positive accessibility news: got an fx plugin over the weekend and it turned out not to be as useable with a screenreader as we thought. emailed the company asking for a refund, and they said they'd try to fix it instead. that's pretty cool, but not unheard of from these smaller vendors.
will see how it goes but that was a nice email to find in our inbox <3
