  1. Look, I understand that the blind community enjoys engaging in discussions about our preferred assistive technologies. Whether it’s comparing canes, guide dogs, or sonar devices, we can passionately debate their merits and determine which one is superior. However, can we temporarily suspend the competitive spirit and channel our enthusiasm towards addressing other pressing issues? For instance, we should question the attitude of streaming platforms that treat audio description as an optional extra. I simply want to watch a movie with my family without resorting to a guessing game, wondering, “Who’s that? Why is he yelling? Is that a spaceship or a toaster?” Netflix, Amazon, and Disney—please enhance your services! I shouldn’t require a detective kit to follow *Mad Max*. Let’s pressure these major streaming platforms until every film is accompanied by narration so precise that I can discern the subtle details of Fury Road. While we continue to discuss the merits of our devices, my primary concern is to enjoy movies at a volume, clarity, and accessibility that is enjoyable for everyone. Who is ready to join me in this advocacy effort?
