  1. The analog section of a Bluetooth audio SoC is where careful design pays off. Notes from the JieLi AC695N/AC696N guide:

For the DAC outputs, they recommend reserving positions for small inductors (100nH, 120nH, 220nH, 330nH) to form filters that can suppress high-frequency noise, specifically called out as TDD noise from a nearby mobile phone during calls.

  2. Struggling with low sound volume from a KT148A voice chip product? Our analysis shows the problem is almost always acoustic, not electronic.

The solution isn't an external amplifier, which can burn out small speakers. The real fix is system-level.

The KT148A's built-in drive capability is more than enough for common 8Ω 1W speakers. Focus on the mechanics and acoustics for a major volume boost.

  4. Hack achievement of the day: for both a proper animation keyframe triggering system missing from the in-house game engine, and purely out of curiosity, I decided to try out a Time Modulator (shareset in Wwise) to then sync trigger sounds from within a Blend Container. Video cap from game with a sine beep on zero frame, read timecode from Reaper project. But it works! (Mua-ha-ha!)

It is nothing but cumbersome, yet a fun hack 🥳
