@rq4c @EndorNim @ScottishGreens The problem with government of Scotisnd in the Union is twofold: a) too rightwing, b) too remote.

Labour did badly in Scotland after the #Attlee government, because Scots resented the centralisation.

Conditions in Scotland are different to England. Scotland cannot prosper until it govern itself, rather than being a very junior partner to a country with ten times its population.

I'm probably round about Clement #Attlee or Harold #Wilson or Jeremy #Corbyn on the real centre left but on certain issues it's variable.

I support #LGBT+ issues and like to educate and inform if I know what I'm talking about, or give opinions if I don't know as much as I think I do.

Love Music, but my favourite genres is #rock of all types except Metal and Thrash, particularly from the 1950s to the early 1980s. Favourite Radio Stations are #RadioCarolineFlashback and #BoomRadio with a little #MagicAtTheMusicals

I'm an atheist so will challenge godbotherers from time to time.

Tend to stand with the underdogs.

The UK was a founding member in 1949 - at which time #labour - under the no-doubt dangerously right-wing Clem #Attlee - formed the government

I appreciate that some on the far left wish it were not so - but #labour has NEVER been the far left party of their fantasies.....

Total #BS - you point to where #Attlee promoted criticism of "pride in king & country" - you can't!

For the avoidance of doubt I cannot stand all that stuff - I would be shouting "Not My King" if I thought it made any difference other than risking being manhandled or arrested by police and put in a secret watch-list with a mug-shot

But many normal #labour voters do not think like me and I accept that

Well I guess if we had a world war and mobilised several hundred thousand into the army..... the conditions for a second #attlee might obtain.

But we are more in a state like that #haroldWilson had to face - and it looks like #labour could use a leader more like him. Failing that, I think #starmer will do

Well it looks like we will find out within the next 18 months or so......

I am not really into the whole #inspirational leader thing... a competent and intelligent chairperson who coordinates the most talented #labour MPs in delivering for all the country with some notice taken of need would be a massive advance - can be as dull as #attlee as far as I'm concerned

I would argue taxing #nonDoms is #left - that tax limited status survived #Attlee, #Wilson and #Blair without being removed

You mistake my meaning - anyone calling #starmer "Keith Stalin" should look for a different party - #labour does not need such "support"

There will always be #socialist MPs in #labour - but there are many other equally #labour MPs who do not meet your exacting standards - including I would say all the most successful ones leaving aside maybe #attlee
