Today science is trapped in a paper-shaped box. We might have open-access to read it, but the contents is locked away or not provided (the scripts, methods, visualizations).

The floor — Lego scattered everywhere, ready for building.
To pull from someone else’s data bucket in Tokyo and pull a protocol from Germany and **remix** them with your ideas to build something new, to learn something new, to discover something new.

The shelf — composed artifacts, like Lego trophies. But today status quo demands they are glued together.

The 2010’s prescription was to break research into parts, share each one first. But they are also largely designed for after the work is done.
The bar is still too high to share continuously — those small things that add up to all of the tacit knowledge of science.
