I was able to meet some more great people today. The guy in white shirt here is @ozoned, the big brain behind @firesidefedi, this awesome (self-hosted) podcast about the people in the Fediverse. And let's not forget about @ironicbadger, as he might eventually be interviewed (who knows, but that's what I tried to do here, connect people). 😄

Well that was fun--my laptop's M.2 drive coughed up a hairball something like thirty minutes into my (storage!) talk at #ato2025 .
The laptop immediately hard rebooted, and I delivered the last fifteenish minutes of my talk blind, with "journal recovery aborted" ext4 errors infinitely scrolling across the big screen beside me.
That definitely felt like one for the scrapbook! 😅

I really enjoyed the Community Leadership Summit at the All Things Open conference in Raleigh NC. They used the unconference approach where the participants came up with topics. Then people choose which discussions to join. It worked very well and there were a lot of interesting conversations.
I created a topic about sociocracy and open source. I was a little nervous, but it went well. A small group of us had a nice chat about it.
