2 years ago today, 16th Feb '23 I photographed #LightPillars from #Oxfordshire UK. We don't see them very often here so this was a rare treat! They form when ice crystals sink lower in the atmosphere & reflect exposed lights into these light pillars #AtmosphericOptics

I sat outside for the entire 90mins the Sun was high enough hoping to catch this. The heat was brutal, but I'm so happy even to have caught a fragment! I saw two solar halo phenomena in high clouds but I only managed to cap one. I think it's a 46° halo, but they're rare so maybe it's a colourless infralateral arc?
