We are unbelievably excited to announce that Dr Sketchy’s Ireland is coming to Athlone with THE ART OF IRELAND, their themed alternative life drawing event in collaboration with The Heart of Ireland Burlesque Festival!
Taking place Saturday 12th September in Dead Centre Brewing, Athlone from 2-5pm (doors at 13:30)
The Art of Ireland features 2 amazing models Vita Devour & Audrey Love to serve as your inspiration for the day, both of whom have previously won the crown at the Heart of Ireland Burlesque Festival right here in Athlone!!
You will also be graced with an iconic performance from Vita Devour (we can't keep here away)
So grab your art supplies and join us to draw, drink and listen to tunes all while sketching two absolute Banríona of the international burlesque scene!
About Sketchy's
Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School is a global alternative life-drawing movement that blends traditional figure sketching with cabaret, burlesque, and music. Instead of a strict academic setting, artists sit in bars or alternative venues and sketch glamorous, costumed performers while enjoying drinks and a live burlesque performance.
The philosophy of Dr. Sketchy's is that "everyone can draw". It is open to all skill levels, welcoming both seasoned artists and complete beginners who just want to have a fun afternoon doing something different. There are branches in over 100 cities across five continents and the next Irish branch first started up in May 2010 before taking a break and being resurrected in early 2024. Dr Sketchy Ireland holds bi-monthly sessions in Dublin also.
