New #review today: "#MarkWirtz remains one of pop's great outliers. Best known for the unfinished #ATeenageOpera project, he spent the late 60s pushing studio pop toward increasingly elaborate forms, then somehow carried that vision into 1973 long after the rest of popular music had moved on. #ThinkLikeAKeyRecords' new reissue pairs his two obscure Capitol albums, Balloon and Hothouse Smiles, restoring both LPs to their original configurations and adding the non-LP B-side "Nothing to Do." The first thing to know is that these albums don't sound much like 1973.
