  6. Interesting: Jason Moore, the lad behind Atari Projects mentions that removing a capacitor can sharpen up the video signal:

    > The first optional mod is to remove the C56 capacitor (shown below). This makes the image much sharper and is highly recommended. It does not affect anything else on the system. I used some small cutters to clip both legs.

Re "much better than any 800XL keyboard I’ve tried":

You probably already know it but there were 4 different types of keyboards for the #Atari800XL, and you may have been just unlucky so far.

Here is an overview of the different variants:

    forums.atariage.com/topic/1051

It says type 4 were similar to the 1200XL feeling.

  21. I want to do more coding for my beloved #atari800xl so I created this #fastbasic syntax highlighting plugin for Neovim!

It'll probably work on Vim too but I haven't tested it there.

  47. I got FujinetChat to work on my Atari 800XL! But only after fixing some code in fujinet-firmware to get the PROCEED signal properly handled for SIO2PC.

The fix was submitted as my first PR to the fujinet-firmware project on github. It was accepted. :)

FujinetChat is an IRC client for Atari 8-bit computers written by Urchlay.
