  1. Hi, fedi creatures. I'm an Atari noob in search for answers.
Today I was dusting off the inside of an Atari 65XE I recently got as a gift and there's something interesting going on around (what I think is) the BASIC ROM. Does anybody have any idea what's that? A repair? A workaround to fit a longer IC into a smaller socket?
Thanks for any feedback. Boosts appreciated.

  6. Seriously, 80s #Atari? Is this the way they mounted the little red power LED window on all XE machines or is it just my particular one? They just stabbed the plastic with a soldering iron, it seems. #RetroComputing #VintageComputing #Atari65XE

  11. I used these instructions and JEDEC for the GAL: atarimax.com/jindroush.atari.o (it’s a rather ancient website that is mirrored on a nearly equally as ancient website, apparently) #Atari65XE #Atari130XE #RetroComputing #VintageComputing #Atari

  16. Successfully converted the #Atari65XE to an #Atari130XE. The (getting more unobtainable by the minute) original Atari EMMU is implemented with a 16V8 GAL, a 74LS95B got added and capacitors and 4164 RAM were populated in the unpopulated footprints. Easy. #RetroComputing #VintageComputing #Atari
