Getting back into groove after a week of IT Sherlocking.
Got my Universe up and running, it's important to try keep your game or project data on a separate drive from that running the OS. -

Going to wait for confirmation of Alpha Centauri Ab before I change my own vision of the system but it's still The Capital, the Future History won't be too different.

Picked the wrong time of the night to try to get my head around galactic co-ordinates, but Hadar isn't where is should be but I don't know how to tell the space map that.
It should be 361 light years from Sol when on my Astrosynthesis map it is 524 light years away, but it is too late at night to be trying to figure that one out... -

Naming all the worlds in the Elnath system after Jane Austen characters & locations, ironic considering the violence unleashed during the Zarquon war, and the almost moon shattering bombardments that the Imperial Confederacy unleashed upon the Pride and Prejudice planetary system.

"Is that the World War where Germany and Japan were definitely the baddies or the one where they were on the least worst side, your awful history is both wild and repetitive....just as well we made Contact really...'your minds needed to be blown', as the old quote goes..."

It was stories of Galactic Empires which inspired me to make my own in Worldbuilding, now I'm finally putting form to the vast story of meta-civilisations, meddling Precursors and planets named after 1000 year old Terran memes.
I know there are others like me out there with their own galaxies and histories, it's the joy of Worldbuilding! If you hear Jungle music, it's because all Galactic starmaps play Jungle. I don't make the rules.

A planet, terraformed and urbanised under the principles and ideas of Berlin Techno?
Yes, in my worldbuilding it happens.Incidentally I have a Breezeblock played from 2005 about how cool Berlin is, this is my creative process...

Trying to get my head around the Celestial Sphere and galactic coordinates was perhaps a bit ambitious for this time of the night. :thinkhappy:
Easier just to make pretty planets and imagine the adventures on or around them.

Another world for the Larvitar Herculis (HR 6950) system, slowly rotating in it's terraformed majesty

Making moons around the hypothetical superhabitable of Tollman (Alpha Centauri B) tonight...
One moon has an 'Anime Culture', the other a 'Disney Culture', no other details will be given for now.

Watching a planet I created tonight slowly rotate.
This is one of the things I use the GnuIMP for, Astrosynthesis conjures a fractal map for me, I export it, give the landmasses colour and texture then add some lovely Earth-like clouds as a top layer in GnuIMPI haven't download the new one yet. It takes spoons, I switched from Chrome to Vivaldi last week, ....give me space.

Watched that Tetris movie tonight which was a delightful adventure and was introduced to a Soviet IT organisation called 'ELORG' which is a great name for a planet so now I'm creating Planet Elorg in Astrosynthesis.
It'll be an alien name though, perhaps relating to the playing of games.... -

The planet 'PraΕΎskΓ‘ PlΓ‘z' (Prague Beach), a terraformed Gaian Paludial of great deserts but also a planet spanning sea of nice, cooling beaches. No sandworms, all macrobiotic life has been imported, and the Peopling of the world has begun in earnest.

It's probably way to late on a Friday to be consulting actual star catalogues and cross checking on Wolfram Alpha but that's the sort of biped I am.

I now have a direct wormhole route to two of the alien homeworlds in my universe, all the way back to Alpha Centauri (the capital) and Sol. So many real exoplanets along the way too! Thrilling! :catjam: π

dipping toe into conlangs as I name alien worlds. They would have rules for such things too, from their thankfully humanoid mouths.

It's way too Friday night for me to be thinking about stellar cartography, databases and just numbers in general.
Just make Teegarden's Star appear in the right place would you?

Using the 'Fractal World Explorer' in Astrosynthesis to draw a square island on this Arcturian moon to show the world is not what it would seem.

It is my conjecture that the many peoples of Earth when reaching for the stars wouldn't be too tied to the climate of their homeland (pre-Climate Change, obvs) hence the terraformed tropical planet of 'Narva', inhabited by Finnio-Ugric peoples.
Martians love the Tundra worlds though, they're pretty goth. -

The planet 'Jua Kuchomoza' , which may be Swahili for 'Sunrise'
Been reading tonight about terraforming Venus, which isn't easy, but possible, with the right attitude.
Jua Kuchomoza was such an effort, but the day is 74 hours long, so the spectacular sunsets do take a while. -

The planet Granada Green, another proud terraformed creation by Welcome Systems, in the Lambda Serpentis system.
(It's a trade secret, but every world is named after paint colour shades, bland but inviting, so everybody is happy...)

Painting worlds in that unfortunately named free image editing software, you know the one.
Anyway, Astrosynthesis slaps an image around a sphere and a world is born, see it spin prettily in Space.... -

Astrosynthesising tonight the Psi Serpentis system and appreciating the effort the Halo franchise made in getting these stars right.
No battle around Psi Serpentis in my version though, in my Universe the baddies come in from the direction of Taurus, from beyond the Pleiades.... -

@futurebird I just enjoy Worldbuilding for the hell of it, barely has any story come of my Universe but it is a vast and documented place. I know there are others like me.

Twixtmas still lingers in this house, I'm happily linking up inhabited core stars in the direction of Ophiuchus and Herculis with wormholes, there is still some mushroom tea left.....
