A change in the weather means a shift in priorities. Bulbs in the garden will have to wait. Now's the time to submit the kids' #AstroPI challenge.

Just got my Mission Zero certificate! 🚀🛰️
My code ran on the International Space Station as part of the ESA & Raspberry Pi challenge.
Super cool to say my work made it to space! 👨💻🌌

Imagine being an 11 year old kid and getting the opportunity to write a bit of Python that runs ON THE ACTUAL ISS, a REAL ACTUAL SPACESTATION. I'd have lost my mind (or at least I like to think I would have). Anyway, I'm super proud of my Code Club attendees for getting this done. #astroPi #CodeClub #RaspberryPi #ESA #ISS

Just back from my last ever Code Club session. I'm fairly sure my new job won't be able to let me out regularly to run an after-school club, so I'm knocking it on the head for now. I've been running them for nearly 10 years now. Absolutely loved every second of it, it's always been the highlight of my week, and I will miss it terribly. Massive thanks to #codeclub and #raspberrypi for their work maintaining all the projects, and for making things like #astropi (https://astro-pi.org) happen. It genuinely inspires kids, and makes lummoxes like me feel like they can make a little bit of a difference.

Oh wow @CodeClub You have NO IDEA how much faffing about this has just saved me! I can't give my Y6 #RaspberryPi accounts (no consent from parents), and we never complete this project in one session. I've had to resort to things like copy/paste into text files before, which is a fragile process! Thank you! #CodeClub #RaspberryPi #AstroPi #KidsInSpace

@martinohanlon... and with a little tinkering, I have a nice array of 64 blue dots on my phone controlling 64 LEDs on the sense hat.
It has been fun watching people pick it up and play.
Nice interactive way to "lower the floor" even more for getting into playing with the sense hat for #astropi & a very "high ceiling" of other things that become possible. #creativelearning

Powering on #astropi sense HAT for the first time.
8yo (who has been coding against the emulator so far) : "Oh wow, it's a rainbow! Oh look! Each one has a little red, green and blue light in it. Mind blown... It all makes sense now!"
Me: "What makes sense?"
8yo: "the RGB in the code, it's how much red, green and blue for the lights!
...
So, can we show my cat on it now?"She'd heard the explanation, but actually seeing it... Clicked!
The power of #physicalcomputing.Thanks @Raspberry_Pi

@Raspberry_Pi Congratulations folks! So many new features! We could make an #AstroPi with two cameras on a single unit. But I'm wondering how the 16nm die would fare on board the ISS. Looks like quite a hefty chunk of metal on the top of the AP so that combined with a flight case itself might be enough. We would probably need to get one inside a chamber and bombard it to know.

We've just completed our final @CodeClub session of the year and there have been so many highlights such as #AstroPi #MissionZero. We even designed these awards with the fabulous https://m.facebook.com/DragonsKnightDesign to give each child a small reminder of their own particular speciality this year. Together with a special set of slides showcasing their fantastic achievements, we ended up with our very own primary school awards ceremony! They are all ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and we loved having them in the club. #ScratchCoding
