in science news: Scientists say infrared observations from the new James Webb space telescope may indicate that the first #galaxies formed earlier than currently understood. Writing in #Astrophysical Journal Letters, researchers based their reasoning on the detection of two exceptionally bright and distant galaxies. They say one explanation for their brightness could be that the galaxies are so massive that they must have formed about a hundred million years after the Big Bang
