Here's the same ship 5 minutes earlier - they are also fast. This maybe gives some idea of scale - those boats in the marina are mostly like 30 - 50 feet, human scale. And they're much closer to the camera than the ship in the channel but it still dwarfs them. #phoneography #photography #shipping #astoriaoregon

OMG y'all almost forgot to post these sea lions. Theres a fenced cutout on the Riverwalk by the Bowline Hotel where they can haul out and you can get close. Here they are in all their comfy snoozing glory but you will have to imagine the snorting barking huffing occasional snarling shifting complaining that goes on more or less ceaselessly while other sea lions swim around and complain that there's no room for them. #phoneography #photography #astoriaoregon #wildlife #sealions
