It wouldn't be a holiday to Assynt without some serious rockery. Here we have the Moine Thrust exposure by Loch Glencoul and Loch Eileanach surrounded by wonderful Scourian gneiss and amphibolite dykes.

Dating back to around 1490, the castle is best known for a notorious betrayal of Highland hospitality that took place here in 1650. A VIRTUAL TOUR OF SCOTLAND
To the north of Loch Assynt the ground rises steeply to become Quinag, a "Y" shaped mountain that fills the area as far as the south side of Loch a Chairn Bhain, perhaps better known as the sea loch now crossed by the bridge at Kylesku.
