I was raised on #hedonism and old habits die hard. Sometimes I indulge, though I know it’s a fool’s game. I have “junkie-reasoning” for that indulgence, which is that #abstinence robs us of the opportunity to parse the folly of pursuing #happiness through #pleasure.
It’s not water-tight, this “argument”, but it’s predicated on the #assumption that we can’t transform our #attachment to what we are not in #contact with.
Happy to discuss ~ eager, even: I could be wrong… it’s happened before!

A quotation from La Rochefoucauld
Our readiness to think ill of people without sufficiently examining the matter is based on laziness and pride. We want to find people guilty, we don’t want the bother of studying their crimes.
Réflexions ou sentences et maximes morales [Reflections; or Sentences and Moral Maxims], ¶267 (1665-1678) [tr. Kronenberger (1959)]More about (and translations of) this quote: wist.info/la-rochefoucauld-fra…

This is an odd article, based on a bizarre assumption. For some reason, the author seems to think that if someone shared a particular belief (the specific tenets of environmentalism that Thunberg touted) with her, they must obviously agree with and endorse all of her positions on other issues.
Why? There is no logical reason. Perhaps you agree with someone's position on universal basic income, but disagree with them on regulation of political donations. Or you endorse someone's promotion of protection of endangered species, but are opposed to their protest against resource development in some particular area.
There is no reason to say "You agree with X, therefore you must also agree with Y" here.

A quotation from Marcus Aurelius
Do not suppose that if you personally find that something is hard to achieve, it is therefore beyond human capacity; rather, if something is possible and appropriate for human beings, assume that it must also be within your own reach.
Meditations [To Himself; Τὰ εἰς ἑαυτόν], Book 6, ch. 19 (6.19) (AD 161-180) [tr. Hard (2011 ed.)]Sourcing, notes, other translations: wist.info/marcus-aureleus/2667…

Good for you. Very nice.
I meant, of course, that original posters should put their videos where they are best seen.
Some may like putting their videos on several platforms.
I'd start putting them on Mastodon, which accepts very large videos, or Peertube.
Research yourself which platforms to use for your vids.

In the Way of Inquiry • Objections to Reflexive Inquiry 5
• https://inquiryintoinquiry.com/2023/02/05/in-the-way-of-inquiry-objections-to-reflexive-inquiry-2/Our agent of inquiry is brought to the threshold of two questions:
• What actions are available to achieve the aims of the present activity?
• What assumptions already accepted are advisable to amend or abandon?
