that's the position i have been in over my lifetime, & developed #BorderlinePersonalityDisorder which is in the same #ClusterBpds as #NPD & #ASPD which are likely his diagnosis.

BPD is correlated to NPD & ASPD which is caused by toxic relationship dynamics between ppl. it runs in families. in frumps case his father fred caused it with his mum as enabler.

when systemic #capitalism & #hierarchy are fundamentally driving narcissistic traits, over generations it snowballs into these personality disorders, that can't be treated.

Best Podcast: Clearer Thinking

I actually can’t believe I haven’t recommended Clearer Thinking yet in previous years, given that it’s been consistently one of my most listened-to podcasts for several years now. The topics discussed range from psychology and economics to politics, climate change, AI, philosophy and many more topics. Apart from the excellent guests they manage to find on a weekly basis, the main highlight of the podcast is the host Spencer Greenberg, who always manages to ask unexpected and challenging questions yet always does so with openness and compassion.

It’s pretty hard to pick a single episode, so I will cheat a bit and recommend a collection of connected conversations about different personality disorders:

• A conversation with a sociopath
• A conversation with a narcissist
• A conversation about borderline disorder
• A conversation with a rigid perfectionist who has OCPD
• A conversation with an autistic person
• A conversation with a person with OCD

Each of these conversations gave me a new understanding and appreciation for the difficulties that people with these disorders live with, all from their own perspective (which is sadly all too rare). I strongly believe that by listening better to each other and showing curiosity rather than judgement, we can prevent a whole lot of damage and suffering, and I cannot think of better examples of that than these episodes.

leftist spaces need to have a serious reckoning with their ableism—especially toward cluster b disorders.
it’s not just individual ignorance. it’s a pattern.

you say you're trauma-informed, but pathologize anyone with intense emotions or attachment wounds. you say “abolish the carceral state,” but you socially exile people with bpd or npd like it's justice. you preach “community care,” but treat certain neurodivergent people as disposable.

this isn’t healing. it’s scapegoating.
and it mirrors the same systems we claim to fight.

if you're serious about solidarity, you need to unlearn the reflex to demonize people just because their symptoms look messy, threatening, or unfamiliar. start interrogating where your language comes from—why does “narcissist” live in your insult toolkit? why is “toxic” your go-to label when someone is dysregulated or in pain?

stop centering comfort over care. real community means making space for people who challenge your assumptions—not just the ones who fit neatly into your idea of “safe.”

cluster b folks aren’t the enemy. we are already in your spaces. we’ve just learned to mask, hide, shrink. because we know what happens if we don’t.

you want to build something liberatory? include us.

This is hard for me

I’ve never been one to easily open up- doing so publicly is #distressing

My #health conditions are pretty serious. A #TBI will come with lots of baggage

After 2 decades fighting with the VA that there was a #problem- and excelling in my #career for awhile in spite of it- I had become a #burden on my #family. And a #toxic #ASPD family member put the nail in that coffin

Meanwhile, after separating myself from them, I learned that in this family, #love has its limits 😣
