Tiens, ça a bougé dans le nord du pays. Une série de séismes dans le secteur de l'Askja ce matin dont un de magnitude 3.5 à 10h40.

... In the fall of 2017, traces of a minor glacier slide were seen in the area, but this was not detected by water level or seismometers. Gas pollution at the source and around the river can create a danger, and travelers in the area are asked to be careful.

... the University of Iceland will be in the area next week to make annual measurements of deformation and gas. The results of these measurements are useful for further interpretation of the changes that are currently taking place in Öskja.

A staggering 10 cubic km of magma has entered the volcano’s “plumbing.”

I chewed out a dude on Reddit for creating videos on volcanoes, using phrases like, “that can’t be good,” and, “it’s boom time,” while insisting that he wasn’t fearmongering.

Iceland is a 100% volcanic island. Quakes and eruptions are part of life. While this will be a major eruption, there is no need to panic or worry.
