  1. I struggle to rest and recharge as an #AuDHD because I need mental stimulation and I get bored easily with classic rest (watching a show doing nothing elese ? NOPE)... But maybe there is a form of active rest ? Activities with low sensory input ? What do you think ?

  6. Is there any #AuDHD who have found a good life balance ? Enough stability, novelty, no crash / burnout ?
How does it look like ?
I need examples to try to build mine...

  7. So many posts from ADHDers are about meds. What do these meds do for you that is so wonderful? Do they make you efficient in the NT world of work, or are there personal benefits that you actually want for yourselves???

  8. Does anyone know of any formal medical descriptions of how autists use language, & how we differ from NTs in this way? I have searched everywhere, & can't find anything.

We think and speak differently, but no formal recognition.

    #Honesty, #Courtesy, and #Clarity.

Do you have guidelines that you use/prefer?

  16. As I come to understand my #autism better (I was only diagnosed 7 years ago, aged 63), I realise I have lived a hopelessly innocent and naive life.

I have always tried to live my actual real life trying to be decent (etc). I thought everyone did the same. What a fool I have been. 😢

  24. Hi friends! I have another article to write. The topic is ADHD-ers sharing our experience of what it is like existing as an ADHD-er. Need to send questions to about five folks about their stories.

You can reply here or submit a contact form: resiliencymentalhealth.com/con and I'll send questions.

I would need responses by 2/15. Any takers?

Yet I inexplicably keep trying...hoping for that mythical "energy boost" I've heard tell of.

Whelp...as someone who works for and by myself...I guess I AM the problematic workplace ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Would love to hear from #SelfEmployed / #freelance #ActuallyADHD #ActuallyAutistic #AuDHD peeps:

  27. Any other AuDHDers (or Autistics or ADHDers) here who struggle to cope with the change of clocks? ⏰

What effect does it have on you, and how do you cope?

I’m not too bad with it (though I don’t particularly like it), but it really affects my gf

Searching online yields two kinds of result (mostly):

    1. Parents saying it disrupts their Autistic children’s routines

    2. Opinion columns about the change that miss the point, suggesting changing the clocks is actually responsible for changes in daylight etc. 😳

Anyway, Daylight Saving Time is something we should do away with when we abolish capitalism 😉

  28. 🌟 Monotropism, ADHD & continence 🌟

Many #neurodivergent people find it hard to initiate the act of going to the loo, esp if in a nice flow state concentrating on something else.

The prospect of, and then the actual boredom of being on the loo can be difficult for some.

These barriers, separately or combined can sometimes result in incontinence.

I'd be interested to hear any strategies you use to help tackle these issues, if/when they become a problem.

  32. Lots of us watch videos or listen to podcasts at 2x speed, right? This seems to be a pretty well known thing. Less than 1.75 just always seems too slow for me.

But this is only true when someone is speaking normally. If someone is reading from a script, it sounds completely unnatural to me, and I can't process it all, even at normal speed, unless I concentrate exceptionally hard.

Someone suggested that maybe it's that the average person isn't very good at reading aloud, but I don't think it's that. Even top-rated audiobooks are also entirely impossible to listen to.

Doe anyone else relate to any of this, or have any pointers to anything where I could learn more? I've read some stuff on #AuditoryProcessingDisorder, but most of that doesn't apply to me, and I'm struggling to find anything else related.

One clue seems to be that stand-up comedy seems to work, even though that's mostly scripted. I don't really know what the difference is, but my guess would be that they work hard at making it sound natural, whereas most people reading speak in a different manner. But I don't have the vocabulary for describing any of this, so don't know how to google for more.

Do you have a blog focusing on ND topics, e.g. life experiences, advocacy, etc?

If it has an RSS feed (most do) and you want your posts featured on this bot, reply below with a link!

  34. Questions for all #neurodivergent practitioners...

Does it take you considerably longer to write up your session notes and reports than your #neurotypical colleagues?

If you're a private practitioner, do you find you should or do charge more for the extra time it takes you to write up your notes?

I find this is a common quandry for many ND people
