I haven’t posted here for a while so here is an invasive and #AsianHornet (Vespa velutina) that recorded in France this summer. This one was in the Pays de la Loire.

Yellow leg tips, dark head+thorax, thin yellow band on abdomen, yellow/orange 4th segment on abdomen.

Guardian article about invasive species the Asian Hornet, which has established a foothold in the UK and will come here sooner or later. They are unstoppable and I for one look forward to serving them.

The #UK has discovered its first murder hornet. "They can fly right across the channel." The advice to the public mirrors that given here in Washington state. If you see one, report it immediately. Let authorities deal with it.

It's murder hornet breeding season, apparently. The bee population won't like any of this.
