I'm going to have to write my own #AsciiDoctor-based static site generator, right?

I still haven't found anything that fits my use case, coming from #ikiwiki, which I want to leave because it's slow, written in Perl (not my favorite language) and doesn't integrate well with AsciiDoctor.

#Antora manages to both be overengineered for my use case *and* miss essential features like feed generation. Also node.js, no thanks

Coming from #MkDocs on #ReadTheDocs , I think about migrating our projects user manual to #Asciidoc using #asciidoctor and/or #antora .

But I wonder if there is a service like #readthedocs for #asciidoc based manuals available for #OpenSource or #foss projects.

Important is that those platforms do support @Codeberg (#forgejo aka #gita ) code hosting, instead of Microsoft GitHub.

Hello #fedifriends, I've just realized that #asciidoc & #asciidoctor aren't the same thing, so I was using the documentation of asciidoctor and processing the my document with asciidoc… 🤦‍♂️

I don't know who came late, but the choice of the name is very confused, so now I'd like to know what the #fediversians like to use if asciidoc or asciidoctor, or at least you recommend.

The point is some stuff aren't working because perhaps aren't for ascidoc on the other end asciidoctor is very aggressive on the web search, so unless you don't exclude it from the search it completely eclipses the other one.

Switched from Vim + AsciiDoc → Obsidian → Emacs OrgMode → Vim + AsciiDoc for my daily notes 👍️

@chmod777 For what it's worth, I've had acceptable results so far with #md2gemini myself: gemini://fixato.org/

And that is with the #markdown being generated through #pandoc from #asciidoc source files, via #asciidoctor's intermediate #docbook files.

You might get even better results even if your source files are markdown already. :)

Right, @Siiw is taking #BeardGrabber for a walk, so I have some time to myself to blast music (currently listening to #Unheilig), while working on that #Markdown to #AsciiDoctor conversion.
Should probably also look into how well this #adoc library integrates with #Jekyll.

#AsciiDoc, or rather #AsciiDoctor indeed looks like it'll be more suitable for my personal blog plans as it's more versatile, so I think I'll try to convert the (unpublished) posts I'd already written in #Markdown, to #adoc tomorrow.

I especially like how I can use the [%collapsible] block for content-warnings, which in #HTML5 output will get replaced by summary/details tags, without actually having to include those tags manually in my Markdown document.

Nachdem ich am Donnerstag die leichtgewichtige Auszeichnungssprache #AsciiDoc und das Tool #Asciidoctor vorgestellt hatte, dachte ich, es müsse doch mit dem Teufel zugehen, wenn es für #TextMate, dem Texteditor meines Vertrauens, nicht ein AsciiDoc-Bundle geben sollte.
