En ce moment, je me fait #ArxFatalis, un des premiers jeu d'Arkhane, sorti en 2002.
Et ça tourne nativement sur Linux, grâce au travail incroyable de #ArxLibertatis, un moteur open source du jeu.
C'est un dungeon crawler, dans la lignée des Ultima, mais avec une sauce moderne, qui illustre les prémisses de ce que sera le rpg occidental pour les 10 années d'après.
Gestion de l'inventaire, quêtes interactives, clés et portes. Que du bon.

It's #LibreMonday and I remembered a few day ago about a great game project born with the release of the #ArxFatalis source code : #ArxLibertatis https://arx-libertatis.org/. If you are a #UltimaUnderworld fan, this is a great game. I always like that kind of projects as it helps understanding the inside mechanics of the game.

I was trying to give Arx Fatalis another chance.
I love the graphics of this game. Great late 90s/early 2000s look, but with such nice textures and lighting in the Arx Libertatis engine.
And I hate everything else about it. The level design, the writing, the quests, the puzzles, those damn retarded goblins!
It's not as crap as Daggerfall. But still really crap.

After I decided that I was done with my old campaign setting after nine years, I spend all of November neck deep in old 1st Edition #ForgottenRealms.
And I think I've now found a really good concept for a new setting for a big #OSE campaign next year, thar draws heavily from BECMI, AD&D Forgotten Realms, and a number of fantasy PC games from around the late 90s, like #Thief, #Daggerfall, #ArxFatalis, and of course #BaldursGate.
A bit traditional, but I think it can still be made really cool.

I’m playing #Prey for the first time. It was on sale cheap and I noticed it was from the same studio as #ArxFatalis, which I consider to be a significant game design achievement from a studio with good values. When I started the game I selected all the options it says new players shouldn’t select, because I’m bad ass. Anyone interested in a stream of me screaming, running, etc?
