in today’s edition of afternoon art critic from your resident non artist, we’re diving into vincent van gogh via six paintings. as always, we start with sound + sip.
listening: gingerbee (first listen). past the opener “petal dance,” they ping from elevator music → heavy metal → light jazz — and somehow it holds. -
Yesterday, I wandered through the darkness with Goya’s Black Paintings.
Today, the world is blue. And so is the art.
I’ve been feeling the weight lately — that slow ache you can’t name, only carry. So we turn now to Pablo Picasso, and the haunting stillness of his Blue Period.
This is your surface-level art dive from your friendly neighborhood non-artist.
With the pleasantries out of the way — let us begin. -
Leonardo da Vinci’s 10 masterpieces, from “Annunciation” to “St. John the Baptist.”
A quick visual walk through his work — 1472 to 1516 - layered with my own design twist (orange signature + Renaissance motifs).
Small fades, quiet ambient — something you could watch on loop in a gallery corner.
At least that was the idea.
