2025 Art Summary

Notably, it was the year I finally stopped drawing with a mouse and bought a tablet (and later a sketchbook). I feel like I've been able to have more fun drawing and make much nicer things as a result. Hoping to keep doing it into the next year.

Not many 1 hour drawings this year, but still over 30 regular drawings, including a handful of colored pencil stuff, apparently I posted nothing in October, so November gets two images, I also posted the most in May, it being Arashio month.

2025 Art Summary

Almost forgot to share this here! I originally put this together because I was curious how many would be comic pages, versus drawings or paintings.

I realized while sorting through which months to add pages for, that the tally is 50 finished pages this year! I still can't believe this, considering 2025 was the first year I ever managed to finish a "graphic-novel-style" comic page ("Duskbirds" is different in my mind, since it's more of a comic strip).

I never thought I'd be able to draw a (graphic-novel style) comic before this year. The task seemed too monumental, too demanding. Well, it apparently seems, a key might be finding something you are obsessed enough over, that you cannot help clawing it into existence!

I have more comic projects (and more 2D animations!) in mind to practice with with next year.

Here's to a productive and fulfilling 2026 for us all!

What an incredible year:

• I self published a children book
• I started tabling at convention and sold my art for the first time
• I made a poster for a documentary
• I opened an online print shop!
• I completed a massive worldbuilding project for Inktober
• Passed 1,000+ followers on Fediverse, more than I ever got anywhere
• Published 9 new blog posts in addition to 48 newsletter entries (and if you’re subscribed you know that I yap a lot haha)
• I went to Japan
• Got engaged :)

There have been some fails along the way, but this could have been worse! Next year I will focus on making better art and to share it better with you guys!

I’m optimistic about the future and I want to spread this feeling around ❤️

Another year is almost over, which I'm less than thrilled about.

At least I managed to draw a lot this year. So, finding myself at a bit of a loose end this morning, I decided I might as well throw together an #ArtVsArtist post for 2025. So here it is: a collage of snapshots from some of (what I felt were) the better drawings of the year, with an increasingly outdated drawing of the artist in the centre (please ignore).
