Throwback Thursday art post - Tenshi no Sakkaku.
It is a bit funny to see how much grainier my old scanner was compared to my new one.
I don't mind the texture effect for this particular drawing, per se.
But I'm absolutely chuffed with my upgraded scanner for newer projects.

Throwback fan art I drew of Mike Mignola’s character, Abe Sapian, from the Guillermo Del Toro directed Hellboy franchise.
Seeing anything with my old signature feels like finding something from a time capsule.

From wee doodle to full Extraterrestrial Satyr drawing. ✏️ 👽 🐐
I’ll be taking votes for what sort of environment this alien species is from. Mountain ranges, Tropical regions, Temperate forests, or Grasslands?

So fur baby Finn doesn't feel left out, here's a cute throwback photo of him judging one of my creature drawings in progress. :blobcatcoffee:
I will post the finished version after I remember which portfolio folder I put it in. 😅

Finished drawing of The Creature From the Black Lagoon throwback post.
A tribute to both the character and the brilliant actor who played the creature, Ricou Browning.
May he rest in peace. 🖤

First piece mostly done. I think I'm going to get all 6 done and then circle around for finishing touches. Happy with this result!

So, #PortfolioDay, huh? Why not.
So, I'm a gay knitter/crocheter and beader. I've done various things throughout the years. Also dabble in drawing and some graphic work. (I also write smut, but we're not here to show *that* off lol)

My first #portfolioday and I am ALL about the LOVE! I am one of those people that find hearts everywhere...tree trunks...piles of dirt...residue in my tea cup...a clump of moss on the ground...things shaped like hearts...They constantly show up.

Sometimes when I'm working on a piece painting, I like to put them through various filters to learn more about my art and help me see what I'm missing. I'm absolutely in love with all of the variations on my current WIP, so I'm totally going to share them here. Watch for replies ( assuming I can do it right ) to see more.

Soul Shine - Abstract art is my first love. Just ask Mom about the patio floor when I was 2? LOL I've always been drawn to bright bold colors, mixing them, forming shapes and energy trails. I decorate my own space with pops of them. I find they work perfectly near my Grams traditional portraits. Anchored to this earth
But not of it
Always tugging the line
Moving with the currents
She was made to sail
To wander
Where is the one
Who can bring her to life
Knowing hands
Playing her strings
Pulling pulling pulling
She takes
Her first hungry breath
Submitting
To the wind
She is finally
Free

Art if the day. This one seems appropriate piece for New Year's Eve. I love The Starry Night and this is my homage to it's brilliance. It is made with broken glass from car windows, so yay upcycling!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I have mixed feelings. I want to be festive, but I have to comfort my dogs. Here is a little SPARKLE that won't scare your pets or add toxic fumes into the environment. :) And it can be enjoyed ALL year. :) It's HERE: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/sparkle-black-and-white-art-sharon-cummings.html #sparkle #fireworks #BlackAndWhiteArt #art #artist #artists #artistsofmastadon #mastoart #fediart #mastadonart #mandala #ArtMatters #AYearForArt #BlackAndWhite #HappyNewYear #HomeDecor #InteriorDesign #festive #arte #fun #luxury #glam

Throwback Thursday. Here's some art from several years ago. Hope it's happy wherever it ended up. Sometimes your art babies leave on journeys and you never see them again!
Black Beauty...There is something about simple, clean, black and whites. They go in any decor and add a touch of pizazz (do we still use that word?...lol) These pieces have a lot of positive energy and motion. Lately I’ve been creating patterns for textiles that could be used in clothing and home decor items. This is a pattern I call Butterfly Migration that has a colorful assortment of the winged beauties … one of Nature’s beautiful little miracles. As a #cephalopod lover of course I had to stitch some! I drew out some #cephalopods including a blue ring #octopus, a couple of #squid, a #cuttlefish, and a #nautilus. They're surrounded by a wreath of giant kelp, which was inspired by the coastal kelp from my home state (CA), and the logo of my favorite place- the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey #california.

Let me put all my #artistsofmastadon onto something - especially if you like #sculpting, #moldmaking, or #resin work.
Do you know about Monster Clay? It's a sulphur free WAX #clay. I love it SO so much. It doesn't get brittle, is easy to work with, and MELTABLE.
I chunk it up, melt it slowly (warm mode for 30 mins) and then pour it into a cylinder or flat mold. As soon as it cools you're ready to sculpt!
This piece was a commission I painted several years ago and I still love it and miss it. I hope it's happy and it's new home. It's called "Eye of the Iris"
