Another experiment in composition with gull feathers.

This one is on a large (60 x 50cm) piece of fabulous Arches paper.

Unfortunately, it's hard to capture the richness of the blue, or the texture the paper gives. It's by far the most satisfying depth of colour... the feathers are floating either in a deep sea or in the perfect sky.

Had an #acting #coaching client just now make a realization about one of the other characters in the scene, and it opens up dimension for how they're experiencing and reacting to that character both in that scene and a later scene too. So cool to see a discovery open up the arc that way.

I have an insubstantial idea. Feathers are irrelevant to it. But somehow, I needed to make these before it can take form.

@mjohnharrison just wrote that, at some point, his journals "stop being about writing & start being writing".
