Time for another #ArtisansCooperative feature! Today it's Moon Raven Designs, a metal worker based in British Columbia, Canada, specializing in unique jewellery pieces. Everything from hummingbirds to serpents to skulls to bumblebees.
@coopartisans makes it easy to support local artisans like myself and those I've featured in my feed.

All year, I'm featuring #ArtisansCooperative artists! Today, I'm sharing the exquisite work of ThronesWoven, an Indigenous #Canadian creator weaving dreamcatchers. I asked my parents for one after seeing them at a cultural exhibit when I was young; as an anxious child, it offered night-time reassurance, and it hung in my room for many years. As an adult, I now see the love and care put into the weaving--a powerful form of protection itself.

This month, for my #ArtisansCooperative feature, I’m sharing the work of The Storyteller’s Art—a fibre artist in #Ontario, #Canada. Her embroidered work includes frame-able pieces, as well as ornaments. I particularly love the winter chickadee, shown below—I identify with her somehow...

There was a pottery studio my parents enjoyed browsing whenever we visited my grandparents. Each summer they'd buy one piece, slowly building a collection of custom earthenware; I can still see the blue butter dish with the looped handle that sat on our kitchen table.
It's no wonder that as I was browsing different shops in the #ArtisansCooperative, Salt & Sand stood out. One-of-a-kind pieces that are both beautiful and functional 💙

As a member of the #ArtisansCooperative, I'm going to take some time over the next several months to highlight some of the amazing other artisans I'm in community with. Now more than ever, appreciating #art and supporting #artists is important. It's both an affirmative act towards #creatives, and an act of #resistance against #capitalism.
First feature dropping shortly!

I did a thing! Excited to share that I've been accepted as an Artisan Member in the #ArtisansCooperative 😃
I was looking for Etsy alternatives for my #photography, and @coopartisans felt like a good fit for me.
I've quite literally just set up shop, and I'm quickly learning that 'the Coop' is much more than just a place for an online storefront; in the words of their mission, it's "an inclusive network of creatives." Well, how could I say no to that?!

@rhold @DemocracyMattersALot switching from A to Etsy (some years ago, they jacked the percentage they charge sellers & in the early days of the #Ukraine war, froze the accounts of Ukrainian sellers) isn’t really an improvement, particularly if you’re talking to/about independent creators, makers, or craftspeople. Be careful which platforms you’re recommending even obliquely. Trading the devil you know for one that you don’t is not a wise choice because neither is our friend. People need to take the time not just to vet platforms but also to explain the reasoning behind their choices. (Better alternatives might be #ArtisansCooperative, #BigCartel, #IndieMade or #GoImagine )

Hey y'all, I haven't made anything new for the shop or started any new projects since the baby blanket (working on it!) -- but I did write some gift guides for the #holidays for @coopartisans!
The only kind of good advertising: Advertising for small shops owned by people who aren't capitalists whose sales benefit the creators of the items direcly. ✨
Anyway, there's a #Christmas one and a #Hanukkah one and a #Kwanzaa one by me -- then a #Yuletide one by fellow #ArtisansCooperative member Airic.
Here they are all at once. If you haven't completed your holiday shopping, consider shopping small!

The #crocheted tote bags are finally up on Ko-Fi!
As I said last night, I love these things and I love handling them -- so I'd like to make more, which means people have to buy them. 🥺
#KoFi is for shipping to Europe. If you're in North America, you can find these on #ArtisansCooperative.
Live elsewhere? I'm setting that up on a case-by-case basis. That's through Ko-Fi too. Just hit me up. 👋
